Marissa first became involved with the SAC through her first role at the Health Department as a Tobacco Health Educator. She saw the importance of understanding other substance use trends, as it relates to tobacco use patterns. Additionally, tobacco is a commonly used substance in McHenry County and it was important to highlight tobacco use as a member of the SAC. When Marissa accepted her current role at the Health Department, she excitedly undertook the responsibilities of the Coalition Facilitator, hoping to continue her connections with community agencies and strengthen the network of agencies across the County.
